2013 Airtricity League Table Predictions

The new season is almost upon us and as has become customary, the Extratime.ie team has analysed the data, monitored pre-season form, and devised a massively scientific method to determine how the final league table in the Airtricity Premier and First Division will appear come October 25th.

Our ground breaking method consisted of asking 16 of our regular match reporters to submit their predicted final positions and then we totalled them . The scoring system was simple with 1 point for first and 12 for 12th. The least amount of points earns top spot.

And so if we are proven correct, Trevor Croly's maiden season in charge will also be a championship winning one as Shamrock Rovers (25 points) tops our Premier Division table. It was very close though, Sligo Rovers placed second by a narrow margin (28 points).

At the foot of the table, Bray Wanderers (178 points) are our favourites for bottom spot with UCD (164 points) and Shelbourne (158 points) in 11th and 10th place respectively.

In the First Division, Waterford United (22 points) is our clear favourite to win promotion. Longford Town (41 points) and Finn Harps (44 points) completing the top three. The Galway pair of Mervue United (111 points) and Salthill Devon (120 points) sit at the foot of the table.
