Manchester City are out of the U16 Elite Boys Cup at the Umbro Galway Tournament after suffering a second defeat in two games; going down 2-0 to an excellent St. Kevin's Boys side.

St. Kevin's dominated the early possession and looked particularly dangerous down the right, with Stephen Confey proving a massive headache for the over-worked City defence.

It was Confey's hard work that lead to St Kevin' opener after 15 minutes. His ball caused chaos in the City box, before being scrambled home by Richard Purdy. The English side's keeper Daniel Grimshaw got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out.

The rest of the half was a cagey affair with no real chances of note. Kevin's continued to dominate possession and were well worth their half time lead.

City emerged a brighter team after the break but again goal-scoring opportunities were in short supply. Shots from Emmanuel Vassi and then Aaron Nemane were easily dealt with by Evan Moran in the St Kevin's goal.

A mistake from City centre half Gideon Adu Peprah put Kevin's substitute Graham Kelly through one-on-one with the 'keeper but Grimshaw got down well to save. Kevin's wrapped up the points with minutes to go after a fine turn and finish inside the box by Patrick Obijuru. They now move onto to play Maccabi Haifa later today, knowing a win will see them through to the Elite Boys Cup semi final while Man City go into the Plate.
