League of Ireland announce fixture changes and disciplinary warning for Cork City

The League of Ireland have confirmed several fixture changes for both the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division and Women’s Premier Division involving Cork City.

In the Men’s First Division, the match between Cork City and Longford Town has been rescheduled from Friday, April 19 at Turner’s Cross to Saturday, April 20 at Bishopsgate, now starting at 19:30.

This change has prompted a switch for their Round 20 fixture from Saturday, June 8 at Bishopsgate to Friday, June 7 at Turner’s Cross, starting at 19:45.

Another change involves Cork City's game against Finn Harps, originally set for Friday, April 26 at Turner’s Cross, which will now occur at Finn Park.

The game has been moved to an earlier time on the same day, now starting at 18:00, with a possible adjustment to 19:45 depending on floodlight maintenance at Finn Park.

Additionally, the Round 24 fixture for Finn Harps v Cork City has been shifted from Finn Park to Turner’s Cross, retaining the original date of Friday, July 12 and kick-off time of 19:45.

In the Women’s Premier Division, following a prior change that moved Cork City v DLR Waves to the UCD Bowl, the Round 20 match is now set to return to Turner’s Cross on Saturday, September 28 at 17:00.

The league has also addressed a rule breach by Cork City during a Women's Premier Division game against Bohemian FC on March 30, 2024.

An independent disciplinary committee found that Cork City made an unauthorised fifth substitution using four separate opportunities, contrary to the League of Ireland Competition Rules.

The committee has issued a warning to Cork City following this investigation.
