You will all have heard of Comic Con! But have you heard of ‘Kit Con Éire’? Well, there is one, and it's coming to the Carlton Airport in Dublin on Sunday, 16th April.

This is a football kit extravaganza that will bring kit collections, kit vendors, and kit discussions altogether in one place. Paul Behan is the man whose brain-child this is and is promoted by his company Footballkitbox.

Operating since 2018, with customers in over 25 countries worldwide, Footballkitbox sends out unique and diverse shirts every month as part of their subscription service. This is an unusual and quirky offering, and with modern, classic, and retro options, there is something for every type of football kit fan.

A pivotal part of Kit Con Éire will be displays of some of the finest kit collections in the country. There will be stands with collections from Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Bohemians, Shelbourne, Dundalk, Cork City, Shamrock Rovers, Bray Wanderers, Galway Utd, Sligo Rovers, Finn Harps, Ireland, Celtic, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Fulham, Dortmund, Newell's Old Boys, Fluminense, and many others – a truly eclectic mix.

In addition, there will be a section of shirt and memorabilia vendors selling retro and modern football kits, including Icarus, KitLaunch, NIClassico, Golazzo Shirts, Onside Jerseys, Argentina Football Shirts, Calcio Culture Club, Irish Sports Museum, Premier Shirt Displays, and Soccer CardsUnited, and of course, Footballkitbox.

This time out, the event will run over two days with appearances from legends in the space, including Ellis Platten and The Kitsman. Paul has lined up some special guests for talks and panel discussions, including Eddie O'Mahony from Ireland Soccer Shirts, Kit and Caboodle author Matt Riley, sports encyclopaedia Barry Rojack, kit experts Denis Hurley (Museum of Jerseys), and Bartley Ramsey (The Finn Harps Story).

The podcasters will be well represented also with ChatShirts, The Green Machine, and TheBoysWeveSeen.

Paul explains, "This year we are adding an extra day to the calendar of events! Your convention ticket will include free entry to the Women's Premier Division match Shelbourne FC V Treaty United in Tolka Park at 2 pm on Saturday, the 15th. Then, at 5 pm, Aodhan and Gary from The FootballWalking Tour will take us on a trip around the historical football sites of North Dublin before finishing in Dalymount Park for a grand finale.

"We have a special evening planned with kit discussions, a comedy show, and some music."

Paul Behan is passionate about what he does – that comes through in spades when you speak with him. There is a niche in the Irish footballing world for Footballkitbox and Kit Con Éire, and that will expand nicely under Paul’s drive.
