Benny spent some time playing in Switzerland before joining Scarborough Athletic in England in the summer of 2016 where he was the club's leading scorer. In June 2017 he came to the League of Ireland when he signed for Sligo Rovers.

He made his league debut for the Bit o' Red against Drogheda United at the Showgrounds on 15 July 2017 and scored his first goal two weeks later in a 1-1 draw with Dundalk. He scored just once more, in an FAI Cup tie against Longford Town and left the club at the end of the 2017 season.
