Ramblers snap up 10 new faces

Cobh Ramblers boss Dave Hill has moved quickly to snap up 10 players ahead of the east Cork club’s return to the league, with Davin O’Neill the big name on the sheet.

O’Neill departed Cork City at the end of 2012 after four years at Turner’s Cross, with work commitments cited as the main reason behind his release.

He spent five seasons at Ramblers from 2004 to 2008 and will now lead the line for Hill’s outfit.

The Rams boss has also secured the services of old reliables John and Conor Meade, while promising left-back Andrew Bhandarkar has joined following a spell with Limerick.

Cobh are expected to confirm a friendly with Cork City next week at St Colman’s Park. They kick their league campaign off with a tie at home to Wexford Youths on March 9.

Cobh Ramblers signings: Davin O'Neill, John Meade, Conor Meade, Brian Fitzgerald, Andrew Bhandarkar, Martin Deady, Alan O Flynn, Gary Collins, Jonathan Spillane, Robert Birdsall (GK).
