Peamount United drawn in tough group

Peamount United have been placed in a tough group for the qualifying round of the Women's Champions League, with Israeli, Bosnian and Welsh opposition. 

 

 
SFK 2000 Sarajevo will host the group, which also includes ASA Tel Aviv and Cardiff Met. All three matches will be played in Bosnia from 11-16 August. 
 
 
University club ASA Tel Aviv qualified for the round of 32 last year, going out at the same stage Peamount did. Five-time Israeli champions ASA Tel Aviv finished top of a group featuring Portuguese champions 1 de Dezembro and Hungarian champions MTK Budapest, before being knocked out by Italian side Torres Calcio.
 
 
Top seeds SFK 2000 Sarajevo did not qualify from their group, but did finish as runners up- losing just one game to group winners Olimpia Cluj. Sarajevo missed out on qualification to Peamount- who, as runners-up in another group, had a better record. The current Bosnian champions have a formidable domestic record- having won ever Bosnian championship since 2003  
 
 
They have competed in the Champions League in every year since 2003-04 and have reached the round of 32 once, two years ago. Among their qualifying round opponents in 2008-09 were Galway United, with whom they drew 0-0. 
 
 
Cardiff City are the current Welsh Women's Cup holders and play in the second tier of the English system- the FA Premier League National Division. Cardiff also have some European pedigree- having represented Wales in Europe every year since 2003-04.
