Shelbourne take on Waterford United at Tolka Park on Friday evening as both teams try to get back on track in their quest for promotion from Division One. Kick-off is 8.00pm.

Shelbourne followed up a 4-0 home win against Mervue United on Friday last by going down by the only goal in a disappointing game against Limerick in Jackman Park. Friday’s opposition had also got a disappointing weekend losing out to Longford Town away by 2-1 and drawing 0-0 at home to Athlone Town.

Shelbourne are without Colin O’ Brien who is suspended for Friday’s match because of an additional week of suspension for his red card against Athlone Town.

“I’m gutted to be missing such a big game, but I’m confident the lads will get the job done”, O’Brien said.

Shels are also without injured Stephen Quigley and David Cassidy who both have hamstring injuries. Michael Coburn (heel) and Eric Foley (hamstring) are doubts and will have late fitness tests before the match.

Waterford travel to Tolka Park with a few injuries in their squad as well. Josh Byrne (tendon strain),Kevin Murray (hamstring), Seamus Long(ankle) are all out of Fridays clash. John Hayes (ankle) may be fit in time after missing Tuesday's draw with Athlone Town.

Waterford manager Stephen Henderson was disappointed with his side’s last performance against Longford Town. "We handed them two goals. Stupid goals in fact… Apart from the goals, we overplayed the ball far too often. We had chances to score after they had taken the lead but we wasted the opportunities that came our way”, he said.
