Sligo Rovers moved into third place in the Premier Division after their 3-1 win over Drogheda United on Saturday night.

A brace from Max Mata put the home side into a commanding lead as the striker fired in a quickfire double in the 22nd and 26th minutes.

Andrew Quinn brought Drogheda United back within touching distance for a point when he scored before the hour mark but Wilson Waweru’s introduction off the bench would prove decisive.

Just ten minutes after his introduction the striker sealed the points with his first goal for the Bit O’Red and he did it in fantastic style.
