Hoops Academy players Shannon Coady and Alannah Prizeman have signed for the club’s senior squad.

Coady scored 33 goals across all competitions for Rovers’ under-19 team last season as she won the club’s player of the year award and was the top scorer in the under-19 league.

She made her first team debut against Wexford at Tallaght Stadium in March and scored in the group stages of the All-Island Cup against against Glentoran.

Shannon Coady: ”Signing for the senior team is really exciting for me. I can’t wait for this season to start. We have a great squad and we are excited to see where the season takes us.

Prizeman joined Rovers in 2020 as part of the club’s under-17 squad, progressing through the under-19 team and made her first senior appearance for the Hoops against Treaty United in March 2023.

Alannah Prizeman: “This will be my fifth season with the club and I can’t wait to be part of this group. Hopefully, we have a positive season and build on last year’s performances.”

Speaking about the duo, Hoops Head Coach Collie O’Neill said: ”Both Shannon and Alannah dropped into the first team training sessions during the early stages of last season and both immediately settled in to the group.”

Head of Women’s Football at the club Jason Carey spoke positively about the two players progressing from the club’s academy ranks.

”It’s really important that we see graduates from our Academy teams play for the first team. Alannah and Shannon have worked extremely hard and are fully deserving of this opportunity. We are very excited to see both players make this step up.”
