Shauna Fox becomes 14th re-signing confirmed by Shamrock Rovers for 2024

Shamrock Rovers have confirmed that central defender Shauna Fox will continue to play her football in Tallaght for the 2024 season.

The former Shels player formed a fine partnership with Jessica Hennessy at the heart of the Rovers back four last season as the Hoops finished third in the Women’s Premier Division on their return to the top flight of the game in Ireland.

The 27-year-old player made 18 appearances across all competitions for the Hoops in 2023.

Speaking on signing up once against with Rovers, Fox said: ”I am really looking forward to the new season with Shamrock Rovers. It’s a big year for us after building a strong team and gaining the confidence we need for the upcoming season.

"Hopefully we can build on the positives from last year and get some silverware for the club.”

Fox who previously played with Castlebar Celtic, Galway WFC before moving to Shels mid-way through 2021 winning two league titles and an FAI Cup before making the switch to the Hoops last year.

Head Coach Collie O’Neill said: ”I am really delighted to have Shauna sign on for another season. Her wealth of experience, calmness and composure makes her an invaluable asset to the team. Her performances last season solidified her reputation as one of the best players in the league.”
