First Division Longford have moved to secure the services of Bluebell United star Vasyl Tropanets ahead of the 2024 First Division season.

Tropanets, 23, is a former teammate of current Longford Town player Viktor Serdeniuk.

The pair played together with Balkany Zorya in Ukraine.

But since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Tropanets has been plying his trade in Ireland with Bluebell.

And it is there where he has impressed to earn himself an opportunity at League of Ireland level.

Last season, he helped the Bell win the Charlie Cahill Cup and also reached the Metropolitan Cup final. 

Tropanets will be joined in the Red and Black’s ranks for 2024 with Harrington who has also committed to the fold.

The Town’s second-choice keeper deputised for Jack Brady on occasion last term and impressed when granted an opportunity to play.

Harrington, 19, featured five times for Stephen Henderson’s men in 2023.
