LSL Senior Sunday round-up: St Mochta’s, Crumlin United and Maynooth University Town pick up important wins

St Mochta’s striker Gareth McCaffrey scored twice as the Porterstown Road outfit claimed a 3-1 win away to Killester-Donnycarney.

A quickfire double from the ex-Drogheda United man put his side 2-0 up inside just 24 minutes of the game.

The first came in the second minute as he got on the end of a quick Jake Donnelly free-kick.

And his second saw him smash home in the 24th minute.

Donnelly made sure of the win in the second half with a stunning long-range strike from his own half after Robert Dunne halved Mochta’s lead just minutes before.

Meanwhile, Crumlin United came back from the brink to see off Home Farm.

The Whitehall outfit raced into a 2-0 lead during the first-half thanks to goals from top scorer Shane Lyons and Eoin Murray.

But Crumlin hit back to claim a big victory.

Mark Canavan, former Bray Wanderers youth Glen Hollywood and Dylan Pierce all got in on the act for United.

And that win has moved Crumlin up to 11th. Home Farm remain in seventh.

Maynooth University Town also picked up a win after falling two goals behind against Wayside Celtic.

Former Bohemians and Longford Town youth Cian Fay and Dylan O’Connor were both on target for Wayside.

But former League of Ireland trio Matthew McCarrick, Dylan Molloy and Eoin O’Neill handed Maynooth the points.
