AFC Bournemouth has announced their latest acquisition, Tyler Adams, marking him as their seventh signing this summer.

This addition sees the American international, originally from New York, making his way from Leeds United on a five-year contract.

Adams will be stepping onto the pitch in a number 18 shirt at Vitality Stadium,  as he becomes just the sixth player from the USA to represent Bournemouth.

Neill Blake, the AFC Bournemouth chief executive, couldn't hide his excitement about the signing.

He shared, “We’re thrilled to have brought Tyler to the club and he is a player we’ve admired for a long time. It’s been widely documented how much his talents have been recognised in this transfer window by other clubs, so to have him sign for AFC Bournemouth shows the ambition we have as a club."

"Tyler is an exciting player who possesses plenty of experience for someone that is just 24 years of age and we’re looking forward to working with him as he’s a player we know will be a great addition to our squad.”

Adams' football journey began in New York. The young talent made his debut in Major League Soccer with the New York Red Bulls in 2016.

2019 saw Adams making the leap to European football as he joined RB Leipzig, where he experienced the thrill of playing in the DFB-Pokal final and showcased his prowess in the Champions League.

His journey in the Bundesliga set the stage for his Premier League appearance with Leeds during the 2022/23 season, where he made a mark in his inaugural season.

On the international front, Adams holds the distinction of captaining the US national team. At a mere 23 years, he became the youngest player to captain the US side since 1950.
