Birmingham City has confirmed the acquisition of Krystian Bielik, the 25-year-old Polish international.

The midfielder, who previously served two loan spells at Birmingham City, transfers from Derby County for an undisclosed fee.

Bielik has committed to a three-year contract, pending league and FA clearance effective from 1 July.

During his recent tenure at St Andrew's, Bielik made 35 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship.

This transfer marks the end of Bielik's near four-year tenure with Derby, having joined the Rams from Arsenal in 2019.

He becomes the fourth arrival in Birmingham City's summer transfer window.

Speaking to BluesTV following the confirmation of his transfer, an excited Bielik expressed his anticipation for the upcoming chapter of his career.

“I am honestly buzzing you know. We have been working with Birmingham for the last couple of weeks. We talked about this, we talked about the project and what we want to achieve," he shared.

Bielik further declared his confidence in the club, noting, “I fully believe in this, so that is why I am back. It has been a good last year for me personally and the club as well. We are going to push for more this season.”

Bielik's professional career began in his native Poland when 15-time Polish champions Legia Warsaw debuted him against Korona Kielce at the start of the 2014/15 season.

His performances drew the attention of Arsenal, who acquired his services in January 2015.

He made his first foray into English football during a League Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday later that year.

Seeking to broaden his experience, Bielik went on three loans away from North London, spending time with the Blues, Walsall, and Charlton Athletic.

His stint with Charlton Athletic culminated in winning the Sky Bet League One Play-Offs, just months before his move to Derby on a five-year deal.

His performances were followed by a full international debut against Slovenia in September 2019. To date, Bielik has earned 11 caps, four of which came at the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
