Luton Town has announced that 30-year-old midfielder, Luke Berry, will be continuing his remarkable journey with the club into the Premier League.

The player has signed a new contract that secures his presence on the team as it moves into the top-flight football.

Since his move from Cambridge United in August 2017, Berry has participated in three promotional campaigns.

Despite suffering a serious ankle injury in his first season, he managed to make a strong comeback, contributing to the Hatters' promotions from League Two and League One.

His most recent appearance was in the playoff final victory against Coventry last month where he successfully converted his penalty in the decisive shoot-out.

Berry spoke of the joy in securing this new chapter in his career, stating: "That was the best achievement of my career, and to do it at Wembley with this group of players made it even sweeter."

He continued, expressing his excitement at the prospect of playing against the biggest clubs, saying, "Our badge was in the mix with all the Liverpools, Man Uniteds, and Chelseas, and when you look at that and think, what an achievement we’ve made to be amongst the big teams like that. Now we’ve got to try and stay there with them."

Manager Rob Edwards shared his satisfaction with Berry's contract renewal: "He is someone who has just grown on me and grown on me the more we’ve been here. He knows this as well. He’s just got better and better." Edwards also highlighted Berry's vital role in the squad, praising his quality performance throughout the season and his deep knowledge of the club.

Berry reciprocated Edwards' warm words, praising the manager and his coaching team for their impact on the squad and looking forward to the upcoming season.

"I can’t wait to get back to work now. It’s all about getting pre-season done, having a really good camp and being ready for the season ahead. It’s going to be a good test just to see where we are at, and I feel like we can cause a few problems.”
