Birmingham City has confirmed the permanent signing of Welsh international Tyler Roberts, pending league and FA clearance.

The forward, who spent the latter half of the previous season with Championship club Queens Park Rangers, has committed to Birmingham until June 2027 for an undisclosed fee.

Roberts, a 24-year-old forward, has capped 20 times for his national team, Wales. His recent international involvement was in a UEFA Nations League double-header against Belgium and Poland in September 2022.

Before joining Leeds United, where he spent five and a half years, Roberts was loaned to Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town, and Walsall, all in League One.

"The project that's going on at the Club was something that I was really excited to be a part of. With what's going on here and where I am in my career, I think it's the perfect fit," Roberts told BluesTV.

He also added, "I've spoken to the Gaffer (John Eustace), and it's all been really positive, I'm hoping I can bring my experiences and the quality I have into the team."

The Gloucester-born marksman began his professional journey with West Bromwich Albion, signing professional terms just two days after his 17th birthday. He made his Premier League debut in a 1–1 draw at home to Liverpool during the 2015/16 season.

Impressive performances in his subsequent loan spells attracted multiple clubs, but Roberts chose Leeds United on the deadline day of January 2018.

He contributed significantly to Leeds United's league-winning squad of 2019/20, ending a 16-year Premier League hiatus.

In pursuit of regular first-team football, Roberts moved to QPR on loan at the start of the last season. He played 20 games, netting four goals for the Hoops, including a debut goal in a Carabao Cup tie against Charlton Athletic.

Roberts has been deployed as a striker, winger, and attacking midfielder during his career.
