Aston Villa agree deal to sign Belgian international Youri Tielemans

Aston Villa have agreed a deal for the signing of Youri Tielemans from relegated Leicester City.

The Belgian international is a free agent after he turned down a contract extension from the midlands club.

The 26-year-old began his career with Anderlecht in 2013 before joining Monaco in 2017.

He joined the Premier League side on loan initially in 2019 before making the move permanent shortly after.

Since arriving, he has played over 150 times and scored 21 goals. It was his long-range effort that won Leicester the FA Cup in 2021.

Internationally, he has appeared for Belgium at Euro 2020 and the World Cup in 2018 and 2022.

The deal is set to be complete when his contract expires on 1st of July. He will be the first signing for Unai Emery ahead of the 2023-24 season.
