Dalymount Park to host 'Bohs in Europe' presentation

After securing their position in European competition for the first time since 2012, Bohemians are to host a presentation made by club member Gerard Farrell.

Farrell will make a presentation titled “Bohs in Europe – the early years” on Saturday afternoon at Dalymount Park in the Jackie Jameson Bar - with the event kicking off at 12.30pm.

Along with the Gypsies European return next summer, Dublin will also a number of European Championship games.

And to mark this, Dublin City Council libraries are hosting a series of talks on football in Dublin – with Bohemians hosting a Red and Black themed discussion.

The Gypsies have impressive European pedigree, with wins over Aberdeen, Rhyl, BATE and Rangers a highlight.

However, this talk will focus on Bohs early European adventures, focusing on foreign tours as well as challenge matches in Dalymount that took place through the 1920s and 30s.

Teams from France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, South African and even Peru faced the Phibsborough outfit with Bohs representing the league on an international stage.

Admittance to the event is free, although donations to the Bohemian Foundation are encouraged.
