First Division promotion hunters Drogheda United have confirmed that midfielder Sean Brennan will remain at the club ahead of the 2020 season.

Drogheda came second in last year’s First Division, before losing out in heart-breaking fashion versus Finn Harps in the final of the promotion/relegation playoff.

33-year-old Brennan was a key performer for the Boynesiders this term, making 32 appearances for Tim Clancy’s side.

The Drogheda native scored six goals alongside his 32 appearances, which has brought his goal tally up for the club.

He has also made 174 competitive appearances for his local club to date, thus signing back for a sixth consecutive year with the United Park outfit.

It will be his seventh season playing for the club at senior level having also played for Drogheda in the 2012 season.

“I just think there’s still that fire in me to get the club back to where I believe it should be,” Brennan told his club’s media team.

“I’m still really enjoying my football and I love pulling on that jersey every week!

“Again, hopefully we progress as a team and go one step further than we did the last couple of seasons,” Brennan added.
