Former Bohemians defender Paul Rooney joins Dover Athletic

Former Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic player Paul Rooney has signed for English National League side Dover Athletic ahead of the 2019/2020 season.
The 22 year old joins The Whites from League 2 side Colchester United after spending loan spells with Bromley and Billericay Town during the course of the last season.
The defender was part of the St Patrick’s Athletic Under 19 side that won the league in 2015 and he went on to make his senior debut for the club against Dundalk in the Leinster Senior Cup that same year.
He signed for Bohemians in 2016 and made two more appearances in the Leinster Senior Cup but never made an appearance in the League of Ireland.
The Dubliner made the move to Millwall that summer and made his debut for The Lions against Luton Town in the Football League Trophy in November of that year.
He spent a short loan spell with Toquay United in December 2016 and January 2017 before securing the move to Colchester United a year later.
