Cobh Wanderers bring in experienced League of Ireland trio

Cobh Wanderers have added League of Ireland experience to their ranks with the signature of Martin Deady, Rob Waters and Sebastian Krawiec.

Deady joins the Munster Senior League Division 1 club with over a hundred League of Ireland appearances to his name, having most recently played for Premier Division side Longford Town last year.

The Corkman made fifteen appearances in his first season in the top flight, playing on the left side of defence or midfield.

Prior to his move to the midlands, Deady had two spells with Cobh Ramblers, with Limerick in the First Division and local Limerick side Pike Rovers. He scored 13 goals in 49 games for Ramblers over two seasons

Rob Waters is another former Rambler to join Wanderers, starting last season with the First Division side and playing a part in 13 league games, finding the net on three occasions, before making a mid-season move to Finn Harps.

He went on to make a further four league appearances for the Donegal club as they achieved promotion via the play-offs.

Goalkeeper Sebastian Krawiec has lined out for various teams in his native Poland, starting off at former II Liga side Hetman Zamosc, before playing for Cypriot club Aspida Pylas and then appearing on trial for Tommy Dunne’s Cork City prior to the 2011 season.

He made a substitute appearance for the club in their 3-0 win over Cobh Ramblers, coming on for Marc McNulty in the second half, before joining Midleton in the Musnter Senior League. He later played for Douglas Hall and moves from them to Cobh Wanderers.

The signings are a significant coup for the side who were only promoted from Division 2 last season.

It’s hoped that the signings will not only help their league campaign, where they have picked up four points in four games, but also in the Munster Senior Cup, where they have been drawn to play First Division Limerick at home.

Cobh Wanderers have seen players join and come from Cobh Ramblers so far this season with goalkeeper Shane Hallahan signing for the Wanderers while midfielders Jimmy Griffin and James Stoat have joined the League of Ireland side.
