Wexford Youths -v- Longford Town

Wexford Youths play host to Longford Town this Friday at Ferrycarrig Park hoping to pick up their first points of the season while Town sit in 5th place on four points after a decent start to the season.

Actual Start
Wexford come into the game having yet to receive any points after three games against teams who will be in and around the top of the division by the end of the season. Despite good spells of possession and some nicely worked chances, the Youths found Waterford, Shels and Sporting that step ahead at the back. After the Sporting game, Wallace thought his team weren’t really outplayed and said, "We played well but Fingal are a good side. We've played the top three now and I thought they (Fingal) were the best of them."

Injuries
Tim McGrath is a major doubt for the game due to a niggling knee injury. As well as this, Wallace is still without long term injury victims Paul Murphy, Danny Furlong, Lee Aust and Gary Sheahan and it is believed that the Youths will be without their services for a while yet. Peter White is also out of the game due to suspension.

Dizzy Heights
Longford threw away a three goal lead to draw with Monaghan first off and then imploded against Finn Harps with two reckless challenges seeing them reduced to nine men and a game lost, followed by a solid 4 – 0 thumping of Kildare. They’ll be nervous coming to the sunny south eastern team, however, aware of the home side's need to get points on the board quickly.

Extratime.ie prediction: 3 – 2.
