Murray and Sandford commit to Shels for the 2015 season

Shels have begun their preparations for the 2015 First Division season by announcing the re-signing of goalkeeper Greg Murray and the signing of striker Mark Sandford from Shamrock Rovers.

Murray signed from Bohemians at the start of last season and he immediately became the first choice goalkeeper, playing in every league game up until his injury against the Shamrock Rovers B team in September. He managed twenty-five appearances before that, conceding only twenty-one goals and keeping thirteen clean sheets.

Sandford was a part of Shamrock Rovers’ U19 squad before making the step up with the B team last year. He went on to make nineteen appearances for the team, scoring his only two goals in a 3-2 defeat to new club Shelbourne, the game in which Murray became injured.

This news follows on from the recent news that Johnny McDonnell will once again lead out his young Shelbourne charges in 2015 after he signed a new deal.
