Gerard’s Biography
Having previously played for Clones Town, Gerard developed at Monaghan United, playing in their schoolboys team before graduating to the U21 side. He played for Monaghan for a few seasons before earning a football scholarship at UCD. In 2008 Ger made 3 appearances for the first team, playing in League Cup games against St Patrick's Athletic and Wexford Youths, and also made 1 league appearance in a 4-1 defeat away to Derry City on 23 May.
In 2011 Gerard returned to UCD colours, making 2 league appearances in the early weeks of the 2011 season but he was not involved in the rest of the Student's campaign and his next exposure to LoI football came three years later when he signed for Ollie Horgan at Finn Harps in July of 2014. He made his Harps debut against Waterford United at the RSC on 15 August and he made 6 league appearances for the club as well as playing in their FAI Cup quarter-final against Avondale United.
Ger made one league appearance, coming off the bench against Shelbourne in the opening game, before he left the club in June 2015.
