Harpal’s Biography

Harpal started his career at the tender age of ten when he joined the Leeds United academy. He spent five years there and signed his first professional contract with the club when he left school, aged sixteen. He spent three years with the youth and reserve sides at Elland Road before going on a series of loan deal to Bury, Bristol City and Bradford City.

After eight years on the fringes of the first team, Harpal went on loan to Stockport County in February 2005 before signing a permanent deal with them the following month. He stayed at Edgely Park for just over a year, leaving at the end of the 05/06 season.

Harpal was then persuaded by Sean Connor to sign for Sligo Rovers in July 2006. He played out the remainder of the season at the Showgrounds but, when Connor left Sligo to take over as manager at Bohemians, Harpal soon followed, starting 2007 as a Bohemians player.

His first season at Bohs was ruined by injury and in his second, 2008, he got few opportunities under new boss Pat Fenlon. Bohs won the League that year but Harpal played one game too few to receive a medal and at the end of the season he returned to England.

He wasn't gone long as Sean Connor, newly appointed at Dundalk signed him once again at the start of 2009 and Harpal made 12 league appearances before leaving to get married in the summer of 2009.
