Eric’s Biography
Eric's career has taken many twists and turns. From Moate Rovers to Temple Villa, to Manchester United, home to Athlone, to Longford and back to St. Mel's Park once again. Molloy also received international caps at U15, U16 and U17 levels.
Liam Buckley (Athlone) snapped him up in June 2002, on his return from Manchester, but the pair didn't see eye-to-eye and Eric soon took off to Longford Town. Injury struck again and a change of management at Flancare Park left Molloy feeling out of place and he returned to Athlone Town. This latest spell at the club ended on 3rd April 2006, his last appearance coming in a 4-0 League Cup defeat to Bohemians.
In July 2012 Eric once again donned the colours of Athlone Town, re-appearing for the club against Longford Town at Flancare Park on 7 July. Eric made 6 league appearances that year.
