Dave’s Biography

Davie O’Connor is a left-sided midfielder who hit the League of Ireland stage in 2005 with Kilkenny City, helping Pat Scully’s side to fourth place in the First Division standings. Scully then took O’Connor to Shamrock Rovers in 2006, and he played a key role in the Hoops securing promotion back to the Premier Division at the first time of asking.

That earned the Tallaght-native a new contract for 2007. However, after playing half of Rovers’ league games, Davie was deemed surplus to requirements, and he left Shamrock Rovers at the end of the season.

In December 2007 O’Connor joined four of his ex-Rovers team-mates at Dundalk. He made his competitive debut for the club away to Shelbourne on 7 March 2008, scoring his first ever goal for the Lilywhites in their 6-0 demolition of Kildare County two months later.

In 2009 Dave found himself at Drogheda United where he made 14 league appearances, scoring once in a 2-1 home win over Cork City. In August of 2009 Dave signed for Brendan Place at Athlone Town.
