Stephen’s Biography

Stephen played underage football with St Joseph's Boys before moving across the water to sign for Newcastle United in 1999. He spent five years at St James Park but suffered recurring injuries and didn't make a first team appearance.

In March 2005 Stephen returned to Dublin for a loan spell at Shelbourne and was released by Newcastle when he returned that summer. In July 2005 he returned to Ireland and signed with St Patrick's Athletic where he made 86 appearances over the next three and a half seasons before being released by the Inchicore club at the end of 2008.

Stephen signed for Bray Wanderers in February 2009 and made 27 appearances in his first season at the Carlisle Grounds. In 2010 Stephen made a further 11 league outings with the Seagulls but in 2011 he found game time harder to come by, making just one league appearance. Stephen was included in Bray's squad for 2012 but injuries kept him out of action for the entire season and he left Bray at the end of 2012.
