Robbie’s Biography

Dublin native Robbie Shields spent time at Leeds United but returned on loan to Shelbourne in February 2004. Robbie ended up staying at Shels for one and a half seasons, leaving to join Kildare County in the summer of 2005. He would make 21 appearances for Kildare over the rest of the '05 season, scoring five times.

Robbie signed for Pat Scully at Shamrock Rovers in December 2005 and he played for the Hoops in the opening half of the 2006 season before leaving in the summer of '06. He subsequently joined LSL side Cherry Orchard at the beginning of their 2006/07 winter season.

Robbie played briefly for Bray Wanderers at the start of 2009 but he left without making a senior appearance for the Seagulls. He was soon turning out for Cherry Orchard again and was part of their 2009 FAI Cup squad that reached the third round, going out after a replay to Monaghan United.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season Robbie left the Orchard to sign for Crumlin United and he was part of the Crumlin squad that reached the third round of the 2010 FAI Cup, when the Dublin side lost 3-0 to First Division Finn Harps.
