Dave’s Biography

David began playing football at Mervue United before moving on to Galway United where he started his League of Ireland career in 1998. He spent eight seasons at Terryland Park and famously scored the goal that relegated Connacht rivals Sligo Rovers in 2003.

At the start of the 2007 season David signed for Limerick 37 where he scored two goals in 12 league appearances before returning to Mervue for their 2008 A Championship season. He helped guide Mervue to play-off glory over Kildare County at the end of that season and made 26 appearances when the club made their League of Ireland debut in 2009.

In 2010 David scored four league goals in 16 league appearances for Mervue, adding 21 league appearances the following year as the club finished seventh of twelve in the First Division. David made 2 further appearances in 2012 but was released by Mervue at the end of April, returning to Junior football with local Galway side Corrib Rangers.
