Known as “Franco”. Andrei started his career in his native Romania with Coresi. He also had a spell with CSM Ramnicu Sarat in 2002 before arriving in Ireland in 2004 when he played with North Athletic in the Dublin AUL.

He was originally snapped up by Bray Wanderers in 2005 and quickly became a fan's favourite at the Carlisle Grounds. In four seasons with the Seagulls he made 58 league appearances and scored 13 league goals. In the summer of 2008 Andrei was loaned out to First Division Shelbourne.

Andrei made his debut for Shels in a 0-0 draw against Dundalk on 18 July 2008 and he made 4 league appearances over the remainder of the '08 season. He was not kept on at Tolka Park for 2009 but signed for LSL side Belgrove where he played the in second half of their 2008/09 season.

But in the summer of 2009 Andrei was back at Shels, re-signing for the club in July. His second spell at the club involved just 1 league appearance and two weeks later he signed for Athlone Town, making his debut for Brendan Place's side against UCD at Belfield on 7th August 2009. He made 11 appearances for Athlone, scoring twice, before leaving the club at the end of the '09 season.

In January 2010 'Franco' returned to Bray Wanderers but he made just 4 competitive appearances before leaving the club in the summer transfer window.

In 2011 Franco played for Drogheda United during their pre-season but did not sign a contract at the club.
