Richie’s Biography

Richie came through the ranks at Dublin youth side Stella Maris before joining Shelbourne in 1998. He made his league debut for Shels against Shamrock Rovers in August '98 and spent five years at Tolka Park before moving to New England Revolution for in 2004.

Richie spent one season in the US before returning to Shelbourne for the 2005 season. A further two seasons followed and in all, he won four league titles with the Reds, the last coming in 2006. That was also the season in which Shelbourne went into financial meltdown and Baker left to join Drogheda United for 2007.

He went to the right place, winning a fifth league title in his first year at United Park where he also played in 2008. The following year he returned for a third spell at Shelbourne, then in the First Division. In 2010 he moved to Bray Wanderers where he played only eight league games before leaving the club at the end of the season.

He has been capped at U18, U20, and U21 level for the Republic of Ireland.
