Joseph’s Biography
Joseph's route to the League of Ireland was long and winding. He started his career in his native Cameroon with Canon Yaounde and also had a spell at Cotonsport before moving to Switzerland where he played for Neuchatel Xamax for a year. He then had two season a t Racing Strasbourg in France, followed by two years at Al-Khaleej in Saudi Arabia. Then came a spell at Chengdu Blades in China before he finally landed in Ireland.
Joseph signed for St Patrick's Athletic in 2003, but left the club in the summer of 2004, having scored three goals in 17 league appearances, to sign for Pat Fenlon at Shelbourne. He made his debut for Shels in a 1-0 away win at Cork City on 14 August 2004. In 2006 Joseph won his first League title medal with the Reds, but it was at the end of that season that the club imploded financially and Joseph re-signed for St Pats, under Johnny McDonnell, in December of that year.
He spent the next two seasons at Richmond Park but went out on loan to Shamrock Rovers for the latter half of 2008 and on 28 January 2009 it was announced that Joseph would be leaving St Pats.
Joseph soon reunited with former boss Pat Fenlon and signed for Bohemians just before the beginning of the 2009 season and marked his debut for the club with a goal in a 1-0 victory over Dundalk at Oriel Park. He went on to make 29 league appearances that year, scoring seven goals, as Bohs claimed the League title. Joseph also won a League Cup medal when Bohemians beat Waterford United 3-1 i the final.
He left Bohemians at the end of the 2009 season, signing for Paul Cook at Sligo Rovers on 23 March 2010. In the next two seasons Joseph made 58 league appearances for the Bit O' Red, scoring five league goals, and winning an FAI Cup winners medal in 2010, although injury kept him out of the 2011 Cup winning team. In 2012 Joseph made 23 league appearances in Sligo's title winning side and in 2013 he won another FAI Cup winner's medal as Sligo defeated Drogheda United 3-2 in the final.
Joseph made just 7 league appearances in 2014 and shortly after John Coleman took over the managerial reins from Ian Baraclough, at the end of July, Joseph went out on loan to Limerick FC. He made three substitute appearances for the Shannonsiders as they finished sixth in the league. He returned to Sligo but left them after the 2014 season ended.
