Thomas’s Biography
Thomas played underage football with Derry side Maiden City Academy before moving to England to sign with Northampton Town in 2008. He was at Northampton for two years without making any first team appearances and returned home in 2010 to sign for Stephen Kenny at Derry City.
He joined Derry just after their enforced relegation and made his league debut for the Candystripes in a First Division game against Cork City Foras Co-op at Turner's Cross on 14 May 2010. He scored Derry's goal in a 1-1 draw that day and went on to make 11 league appearances, scoring 4 league goals, as Derry claimed the First Division title.
Thomas was less involved in 2011l, making only 5 league appearances and he left the club in August of that year, signing for Irish League side Institute at the start of their 2011/12 season.
In February 2012 Thomas was released by Institute and signed for Finn Harps. where he scored three times in 18 league appearances that year. He added another 6 league appearances in 2013 before leaving the club in the July transfer window.
