Barry’s Biography

Barry O'Mahony came through the ranks at Strand Celtic and also spent some time with Dublin schoolboy side, Belvedere.

Barry then signed for local side Sligo Rovers and played with the club's A Championship side in 2009. He made his senior debut on 19 September in a 2-2 draw against Cork City at the Showgrounds and In 2010 he was included in Paul Cook's first team squad, although he failed to make any first team appearances.

In the summer of 2011 Barry went on loan to Finn Harps, making his debut in a 1-0 away win over Athlone Town on 20 August. He made 7 league appearances before the end of the season, scoring once, and signed a permanent deal with the club at the start of the 2012 season.

Barry made just 4 league appearances for Harps, all as substitute, in 2012 and left the club in May, joining up with Mike Kerley at Athlone Town in July when the summer transfer window opened. He made his Athlone debut away to Longford Town on 7 July and he made 12 league appearances, scoring once, in a 4-2 defeat away to Wexford Youths. Barry left Athlone at the end of the season and in February 2013 he played on trial at UCD without signing a contract for Martin Russell's side.
