Lee developed in the Bohemians under age teams having joined the club from Belvedere. He made his senior debut in an EA Sports Cup game against Shelbourne in May 2009 and his league debut came at Dalymount Park in a 3-0 win over Dundalk in June 2010.

Lee became a more regular member of the first team in 2011 and made 10 league appearances that season. however, 2012 saw limited opportunities under new manager Aaron Callaghan and in July 2012 Lee left Dalymount Park to sign for Bray Wanderers. He made his debut for Bray in a 3-2 defeat to Shelbourne at the Carlisle Grounds on 13 July 2012 and made just 4 league appearances before leaving the club at the end of that season.

In January 2013 Lee signed up with Roddy Collins as he took over the management of Athlone Town in the First Division. He made his Athlone debut against Mervue United on the opening night of the season and made 6 league appearances before quitting the club in the summer transfer window and signing for LSL side Tolka Rovers. He spent a season and a half at Tolka Rovers before moving to St Mochtas.

At the end of January 2017 Lee signed for Crumlin United.
