Kieren’s Biography

Kieran began his career at Manchester City where a loan spell at Oldham Athletic provided his only access to first team football. In 2004 he signed for Carlisle United and made 131 league appearances in four years at the Cumbrian club, signing for Coventry City in the summer of 2008.

Kieran enjoyed three years at Coventry and in the summer of 2011 he signed for Premier Division side Sunderland. He spent three seasons on Wearside but found himself competing with Simon Mignolet and then Vito Mannone for a place between the sticks and he left at the end of the 2013/14 season, having made twenty-four appearances for them in total.

Ahead of the 2014/15 season, Kieran signed for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, where he is currently at.

Kieran has been capped for the Republic of Ireland and, ahead of the 2016 European Championship, has 18 caps to his name. He was included in the Republic of Ireland's final squad for the 2016 European Championship.
