John’s Biography

John played underage football with St. Josephs Boys, Ballybrack Boys and Dalkey United before starting his League of Ireland career at Bray Wanderers in the Autumn of 2002, aged just seventeen. He got his first break with the first team when he replaced an injured Jason Byrne. In 2009 John made 19 league appearances, scoring once, in a 2-1 win over Bohemians at Dalymount Park.

John's contract at Bray was not renewed for the following season and Alan Mathews signed him for Drogheda United in February 2010. He went on to make 30 league appearances for the Drogs over the season, scoring three league goals.

On 24 March 2011 John signed for Pete Mahon at St Patrick's Athletic but he made just two substitute appearances for the Inchicore club.
