David’s Biography
David started his career in the youth system at Cork City. He made his senior debut as a substitute in an FAI Cup game against Limerick 37 on 6 June '08 and made 2 league appearances before signing for Sunderland FC on 25 July of that year.
David was at Sunderland for a year and a half before he made his senior debut, in a league game against Blackburn Rovers on 28 December 2009. He made 25 league appearances during his four and a half years at the club and in January 2013 he signed for his former boss, Steve Bruce, at Hull City.
David has previously been called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad, and ahead of the 2016 European Championship, he has 15 caps to his name. He was included in the Republic of Ireland's final squad for the 2016 European Championship.
