Peter’s Biography

Midfielder Peter McGlynn was part of the Under 21 set-up at Shelbourne for the 2007 season and played five time for the senior side in that season, starting twice (Kilkenny City and Wexford Youths) and coming on as a substitute on three occasions (Monaghan United, Dundalk and Athlone Town). Peter was promoted to the Shelbourne First Team squad for the 2008 season. He left the club at the end of the season.

Peter played for various clubs over in America, including the University of California Santa Barbara United and Ventura County Fusion, but did return to Ireland to be on trial at UCD under manager Martin Russell in 2012 but he did not sign a contract at the club. Peter was then drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS but was released from his contract in December 2013. He then joined Drogheda United in July 2014.

Peter made nine league appearances for Drogheda, scoring his first goal in a 3-2 defeat to St Pats, as the Co Louth club finished ninth in the Premier Division. He left Drogheda after the season ended and signed for Alan Mathews at Bray Wanderers on 31 January 2015. Peter went on to make twenty-three league appearances for the Seagulls, scoring three goals in the process, as Bray finished eighth in the Premier Division. He also scored the only goal of the game as Bray defeated Bohemians in the quarter-final of the FAI Cup, before being knocked out by Cork City in the semis.

In November 2015, Peter moved to Longford Town. Peter then left Longford after the 2016 season and moved to the US where he signed for Sacramento Republic FC.
