Sean played underage football with Ferrybank before joining Waterford United's U17 squad for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2017 he progressed to the club's U19 side and also made his first senior appearance in a Munster Senior Cup tie against Wilton United on 5 February 2017.
Sean signed with Wexford for the 2019 season.
