Michael’s Biography

A native of Kilkenny, Mikey is a striker who played local football with Evergreen before joining the academy at Aston Villa in the summer of 2010. He earned his first professional contract the following year and graduated to Villa's reserve side in 2011/12. In January 2014 Mikey went to Carlisle United on loan where he made his league debut away to Colchester United on 18 January. He made six league appearances during his month long stay at Carlisle and the following month he again went on loan, this time to Portsmouth. where he remained until the end of the 2013/14 season. The following September Mikey returned to Portsmouth for a second loan spell, this time lasting a month.

In January 2015 Mikey returned home to sign for Pat Fenlon at Shamrock Rovers. He went on to score twelve goals in twenty-nine league appearances as Shamrock Rovers finished third in the Premier Division. He also played in all four of the club's Europa League games as they went out to Norwegian side Odds.

Mikey stayed with Shamrock Rovers for the 2016 season and made eight league appearances for the club before deciding to take a break from the game in May 2016.

He then went on to play local football with Evergreen before in June 2018, he signed for Sligo Rovers returning to LOI football after a two year break.

In December 2018, Michael signed a two year deal with St Patrick's Athletic. In January 2020, Pats announced that the contract had been cancelled by mutual consent.
