Gavin was part of the Shelbourne U19 squad for the 2014/2015 and 2015 season before moving to Shamrock Rovers for the 2016 season. In January 2017 Gavin joined LSL side Tolka Rovers but in January 2019 he returned to League of Ireland football when he signed for Athlone Town.
