Dean’s Biography

Dean is a left back who came up through the Derry City youth system before winning a move to the Scottish Premier League with Aberdeen. He made his debut for the Dons in October 2010 but was released by the club at the end of the 2010/11 season. He returned to Derry in the summer of 2011 and spent two seasons playing with Institute FC in the Irish League. In July 2013 he signed for Declan Devine at Derry City.

Dean made his debut for Derry in the 2-1 win over Bluebell United in the FAI Cup on 27 August and then made his first appearance in the league three days later. Injury interrupted his contribution but Dean still managed 8 league appearances that year and scored his first goal for the club in a 6-0 win over Limerick on the last night of the season.

Dean stayed with Derry for the 2014 season and made 25 league appearances as Derry finished eighth in the league. He also played in the FAI Cup Final, which Derry lost 2-0 to St Pats. In 2015 Dean, made another 26 league appearances and scored twice, in wins over Shamrock Rovers and Bray Wanderers. The following year Dean added 30 league appearances to his career total and in September of 2016 he signed a new contract with Derry until the end of the 2017 season.

In November 2017, Dean signed for Dundalk.
