Robbie’s Biography

Robbie is a defender who started his career in the youth system at Barnsley FC, before making his senior debut against Brentford on 5 October 2002. He made 66 league appearances in his five seasons with the Tykes and moved on to join Huddersfield Town in July 2007. Robbie spent three years with Huddersfield, making a further 77 league appearances.

In August 2010 Robbie signed for Stockport County but his stay at Edgley Park was brief and in January 2011 he was on the move again, this time to Rochdale. He made just 9 league appearances for them before being released at the end of the 2010/11 season. In July 2011 Robbie moved to the south coast where he signed up with Plymouth Argyle. He made 42 league appearances in his eighteen months with the club and left in January 2013. A few weeks later, on 15 February, Robbie signed for Stuart Taylor at Limerick FC.

Robbie made his Limerick debut against Cork City on the opening weekend of the 2013 season and played 24 games in the league that year, scoring once against Bohemians in a 1-0 win, as Limerick finished in 7th place. He made a further 20 league appearances for the Blues over the 2014 campaign, scoring once in a 2-1 win over Athlone Town, as Limerick finished sixth, and in 2015 Robbie made 30 league appearances, scoring twice, as the SuperBlues were forced into a relegation play-off which they lost to Finn Harps over two legs.

Despite the relegation, Robbie signed on for Limerick for the 2016 season, one in which the club easily regained their top tier status by winning the First Division title at a canter. Robbie contributed handsomely with seven goals from 24 league appearances. In July 2017 following his transfer listing Robbie parted ways with Limerick by mutual consent before a few days later signing for John Caulfield's Cork.

In January 2018, Robbie signed for Galway United for the new season. Robbie signed back with Limerick for the start of the 2019 season as a player/coach.
