Ben’s Biography

Ben is the grandson of Dundalk legend Jim McLaughlin and played under-age football with the Lilywhites. He played with Dundalk's U19 squad during their 2011/12 season.

Ben made his senior debut for Dundalk in the Leinster Senior Cup defeat to Crumlin United on 19 March 2012 and made 12 league appearances in the opening half of the 2012 season. But in August of that year he signed a three year contract with EPL side Everton.

Ben played with the u21 side at Everton for his first two years at the club. When an opportunity in the first team squad wasn't forthcoming, Ben signed for Telford United on loan in January 2015. He made seven league appearances for the club before injury ended his loan spell early. In June 2015, Ben was released by Everton.

In August 2015, Ben signed for Derry City under Peter Hutton. Ben went on to make five league appearances for the club as Derry finished seventh in the Premier Division. He left the club at the end of the season.
