Gavin’s Biography

Gavin joined Drogheda United in June 2011 under manager Mick Cooke. He made his league debut away to Bohemians on June 24th and became an immediate fixture in the Drogheda midfield. He missed only one game during the remainder of the season and was awarded the club's Player of the Year award for 2011. Gavin stayed with Drogheda for 2012 and made 22 appearances in the league, scoring four goals, as Drogheda finished second in the Premier Division table.

Gavin missed only one league game for Drogheda during the 2013 season and scored eight times. He also played in both of the Drogs Europa League games against Malmo FF and in three cup finals as Drogheda lost out in the deciders of the Setanta, EA and FAI Cups. Gavin re-signed for the 2014 season under new Drogheda manager Robbie Horgan.

Gavin played in twenty-one league games for the Louth side, scoring six goals but also receiving three red cards, as Drogheda finished ninth in the 2014 Premier Division. He was also captain of the side on several occasions during the season. In November 2014, Gavin joined his brother Ryan at Shamrock Rovers under Pat Fenlon.

Gavin went on to make 27 league appearances, scoring three goals in the process, as Shamrock Rovers finished third in the 2015 Premier Division. He also played in all four of the club's Europa League matches, scoring the only goal against Odds in the away leg, as Rovers went out to the Norwegian side. In 2016 he addd 17 league appearances another two outings in European competition before leaving Shamrock Rovers in September 2016 after a falling out with new manager Stephen Bradley. In November 2016 he joined Pete Mahon's Drogheda United.
