Timmy is a striker who played underage football for Belvedere before joining Shelbourne. He gained valuable experience as part of the Irish International Schools squad both in 2005, and after he had moved south of the Liffey to join UCD in 2006. In 2008 Timmy made 27 league appearances for the Students and scored three league goals as they suffered relegation from the Premier Division. The following year Timmy made 13 league appearances, scoring twice, as the Students returned to the top flight, winning the First Division title.
