Full Time AET

Shelbourne 1 - 1 Shamrock Rovers
120' - Full Time AET - The game has ended with extratime between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers.

119'

Miele tries his luck with a 35-yard free kick but Murray saves easily.

118'

Ryan Robinson heads wide from another deep corner.

116'

A quick kick out from Hyland finds North on the run, but he can't find the target with his first-time volley from out wide.

113'

Raining Shels chances now as Doyle cuts back for English, but the striker takes forever to control it and Rovers clear.

111'

Jamie Doyle the latest to force a good stop from Hyland, and the keeper punches the second ball clear.

109'

A deep cross from Dean Clarke dips just over the Shels bar. Murray seemed to have it covered.

107'

James English stings Hyland's palms from close range after patient Shels build-up.

106'

Substitution

Mark Sandford replaces Dylan Grimes for Shelbourne.

105'

How did he miss?! Dylan Grimes brilliantly picks out Walsh in behind Heaney and all he has to do is put his shot on target... but he slices it badly wide.

102'

Great chance for Shels as a ball over the top from Jamie Doyle finds English, but his control lets him down with a clear run to goal.

97'

Yellow Card

Aidan Collins is booked for Shelbourne.

97'

Yellow Card

Patrick Cregg is booked for Shamrock Rovers.

96'

Sub Jamie Doyle makes an immediate impact as he finds room down the left and cross for English, but Webster gets across to clear.

95'

Rovers starting with four centre-halves hasn't worked out too badly. They've reverted to three at the back now.

94'

Substitution

Jamie Doyle replaces Lorcan Shannon for Shelbourne.

92'

Sean Boyd spins Aidan Collins far too easily but Robinson comes across to block his shot.

91'

An early chance for Robert O'Reilly as he catches Kehoe's cross on the half-volley, but he gets under it and it loops well over.

90' + 4'

FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers.

90'

Four minutes added on here.

89'

A long-range driver from Heaney is sliced up in the air by Collins but Murray is under it all the way.

87'

Second Yellow & Red Card

Rob Cornwall receives a second yellow card and is sent off for Shamrock Rovers.

85'

Yellow Card

Brandon Miele is booked for Shamrock Rovers.

85'

Shels are really tiring here as Rovers look to find a late winner and avoid extratime.

83'

Rovers go close as Boyd meets Miele's corner and Walshe clears it off the line, and the second ball s cleared for a corner.

79'

Shannon has a free kick from the edge of the box saved by Hyland. That could have been controversial as it clearly wasn't a foul to begin with.

76'

Rob Cornwall holding his shoulder having not been under any pressre. He dislocated it in pre-season. He seems OK, and he'll have to be because they've used all their subs, unless Shels want to lend them one of theirs.

70'

Substitution

Maxime Blanchard replaces David Webster for Shamrock Rovers.

68'

Yellow Card

Robert O'Reilly is booked for Shelbourne.

68'

"Referee, give us a free kick," says Shels assistant coach John Martin.

66'

Rovers go close again as Sean Heaney comes in off his flank to receive Boyd's errant cross and crashes the ball back off the post. Challenging times for Shels.

62'

GOAL!

I told you it was inevitable. Dean Clarke, who's been electric since coming on at half time, cuts in from the left and fires past Greg Murray.

61'

Two chances in quick succession for Shels as English forces a save from Hyland.

61'

Shels build well up the other end, though, and former Rovers full back Alan Kehoe slices his shot wide from a promising position.

60'

Rovers camped around the Shels box for a good five minutes now. A goal seems inevitable.

58'

Another good chance for Boyd goes abegging as the tall striker hits his shot over from the edge of the box.

57'

Attendance here tonight is 779 - not bad for a Monday evening league cup game.

56'

Rovers are looking a lot more threatening this half, and North sets up Boyd this time, but he hits it over.

55'

Good hold-up play from North and he finds Pat Cregg, but the midfielder kicks the ground as he shoots and it's an easy save for Murray.

53'

Keeley off after seemingly picking up a knock. The defender has performed very well, but they'll probably get stronger with Collins.

53'

Substitution

Aidan Collins replaces Conor Keeley for Shelbourne.

52'

Three quick corners for Rovers ends in Sean Boyd heading over from close range.

50'

Dean Clarke latches onto a fine crossfield ball from Brandon Miele, cuts inside and gets his shot away, but it's deflected away by Keeley.

47'

Conor Keeley tries to join in the own goal party this time, heading Dean Clarke's cross onto the roof of his own net.

46'

Second Half

The second half between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers has started.

46'

Substitution

Sean Boyd replaces Trevor Clarke for Shamrock Rovers.

46'

Substitution

Sean Boyd replaces Gareth McCaffrey for Shamrock Rovers.

45' + 2'

A decent first half draws to a close with Shels in the lead thanks to Danny North's well-taken own goal. It's the striker's first of the season, and he'll be hoping to kick on and bag a few at the other end now.

45' + 2'

Half Time

It is half-time between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers.

45' + 2'

Time definitely not up, thinks Kevin to himself, as the ball breaks to Lorcan Shannon, who hammers a shot back off the post. Hyland was nowhere near it.

45' + 1'

The referee seems to have forgotten to blow for half time. Kevin Doherty shouting 'time is up ref' until Blanchard is booked for a high foot on English and Shels have a free kick in a promising position. Time presumably not up after all.

45' + 1'

Yellow Card

Maxime Blanchard is booked for Shamrock Rovers.

44'

Not far off a copy of the first goal as Miele plays the ball into the near post and only a raft of Shels bodies keep the ball out and block the subsequent shot from Clarke.

43'

Keeley booked for an accumulation of fouls around the area.

43'

Yellow Card

Conor Keeley is booked for Shelbourne.

41'

Rob Cornwall aims to join Danny North in the own goal club with an audacious back pass from 30 yards, but Hyland does incredibly well to take it down and clear.

40'

Shannon's turn, this time, to have a pop from outside the box and his first time strike isn't far away from the top corner with Hyland motionless.

38'

After a great long pass down the wing from Heaney to Miele, the ball breaks to Purdy 25 yards out but he can't keep his shot down.

37'

Cornwall booked for an air-shot that took out James English. Shannon floated the subsequent free kick into the area but Carl Walshe could only head it wide.

36'

Yellow Card

Rob Cornwall is booked for Shamrock Rovers.

31'

Purdy booked for what seemed a good challenge. "Dirty... in front of the family," is the shout from the stands.

31'

Yellow Card

Richie Purdy is booked for Shamrock Rovers.

28'

OWN GOAL!

Shels take the lead as Danny North slices Lorcan Shannon's near-post corner beyond Hyland into his net. A striker's finish.

25'

It's gotten a bit flat the last few minutes.

19'

Half chance for Rovers as Miele finds a pocket of space and crosses threateningly for North, and Ryan Robinson does well to bundle it behind.

14'

And from the second corner, Lorcan Shannon swings it in the face of the goal and Craig Hyland can't get hold of it. Both Keeley and English try to stab it in but somehow Hyland manages to keep it out and wins the free kick.

14'

Shels are spending a little more time in the attacking third and have forced two successive corners.

12'

The referee has been fussy so far. He's called back two Rovers counter-attacks to give them frees without letting the advantage play out.

9'

Trevor Clarke demonstrates the ease with which he can skip past players down the left and Conor Keeley unceremoniously takes him out. He's lucky it's the first 10 minutes or the Shels defender would have been booked.

6'

First shot on goal as Richie Purdy's corner finds Sean Heaney at the back post but he can't steer it on target.

4'

First moment of excitement as Robert Duggan - surprisingly playing right back - skins Trevor Clarke and runs infield but his progress is halted.

1'

GAME ON!

The game between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers has kicked off.

Here are the teams in full:

Both sides have made a large number of changes from their last league games - a 2-1 win over Athlone Town and Rovers a 2-0 win at home to Bray Wanderers - however each has retained a core of senior playeds. Shels boss Kevin Doherty is without Cian and Dylan Kavanagh as they're on loan from Rovers, but he does call on experienced players James English, Greg Murray and Daire Doyle. Rovers boss Pat Fennlon names ex-Shelbourne loanees Rob Cornwall and Sean Heaney in defence, while top scorer Brandon Miele partners Danny North up front.
